Updates Complete

convention centerHi all. Everything is now current and consistent with I’ve updated all of the photo pages. No more pop-up windows, no more Firefox issues and a brand new layout across the board.

Along with the new layout, comes new content. Take a look at the Philly color pages. What once was the dumping ground for all my worst photography is actually now pretty nice. (My favorite new pages being sunset and night and/or parks and life.)

In other news, the old Civic Center is being torn down. It was a beautiful and impressive mammoth of an old building and one of only a handfull of Philly Art Deco. It really should have been saved as a historic landmark. But it wasn’t… The University of Penn bought it, and since their budget is bigger than a few small nations (really) the preservation movement didn’t stand a chance. On the bright side, I’ve managed to put together an impressive series of photos of its slow destruction. If not for its violent obliteration, these images couldn’t have existed.

I believe there’s some beauty in these photos. The juxtaposition of formal order, with total annihilation is for some reason a little mysterious. With mystery comes beauty and with beauty comes something valuableā€¦ or something. Take a look and see what you think. Click for Page 1 and Page 2. Lights persist on hanging with dignity in the face of so much gnarled steel, displaced wire and pulverized concrete. But anyway, that’s about it for now. I’m moving in a few hours and have to get back to packing.
