After a walk in the woods yesterday afternoon, I woke up a couple hours before sunrise with the overwhelming urge to go photograph forest mushrooms. I found a surprisingly beautiful corner of the Wissahickon Valley and went wandering through the forest looking for fungus. Here’s an example of what I found:

I got pretty muddy for the angle and used an off camera flash to supplement for the (completely non-existent) useful ambient light. I could shoot with a pretty small aperture if I wanted, but kind of like the shallow depth of field.
