Stone Mountain

Posted by on January 24th, 2012 with 0 Comments

In December I visited Georgia’s famed Confederate Memorial, Stone Mountain. Carved into the granite is a relief sculpture of the much celebrated traitors Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson and Jefferson Davis. The mountain used to be a pilgrimage spot for the KKK, but from what it said in the museum, the klan got along very well with everyone, and everything was just great. Apparently the media just gives them a bad reputation… because you KNOW who controls that.

But anyway, in the 21st century Stone Mountain is a family friendly Confederate Theme Park. There was fried food, a plantation and a train. At night they had a snow angel flying around on a wire. Georgia is weird.

All in all, if it’s got to be out there, I guess I’m glad that I saw it?
